🎁 Regift it – Give the bottle as a gift to the next person who hosts you (any occasion*). Be sure to gift it to someone you trust not to drop the bottle.
Rules:
- No pass-backs or regifts to the same host. A host should only receive the bottle as a gift once. It’s more fun to see how many parties the bottle will attend. Who knows? Maybe it’ll go intercontinental.
- Don’t be a bottle hog. Try to be timely about regifting this bottle. If you don’t have something coming up on the calendar, find something. Get out there. Tag along with your popular friend who get’s invited to everything, and make friends with the host by gifting the bottle :)
FAQ
What’s this all about?
TL;DR: It’s just for fun!
Like many people, when hosting we’d get gifted a bottle of wine or six. Naturally, if we didn’t end up drinking a bottle we’d regift it to the next party host. Then we wondered, how many times that may have already happened? And how many more parties might the bottle go to? 🤔
So we decided to find out.
But what if I want to bring something to actually drink?
Go for it, bring 2 bottles! This is just a fun project not a law or commandment from god. If you want to bring something to drink for your host, you still have that option.
Think of this as a good option if you really just want to bring a gift as a nice gesture and,
• your host says “no need to bring anything” but you want to anyway
• your host will have plenty to drink so bringing the umpteenth bottle is just overkill
• your not sure what to bring (e.g. it’s not a drinking occassion and flowers are too cumbersome)
*Really? “any occassion”?
Use your common sense. Think about your host/recipient. This is supposed to be a fun and uplifting project. Some people might not appreciate or think it’s fun to get this as a gift at a wake. But hey, some other people might view that as a cool celebration of life.
What’s in the bottle?
Hopes and dreams!
When will this end?
Idk 2025? NYE 2026? 🤷♂️ Let’s just see how long this goes.
What if someone breaks or loses the bottle?
Don’t drop the bottle.
